Bryn Walker

Hey, I’m Bryn! I am a Laws and Commerce student at Otago University. At Takapuna Grammar School I was a hard-worker who successfully balanced academic studies and a wide range of co-curricular pursuits, so I understand the pressures on students and how to manage this effectively and achieve success. I earned scholarships in both English and Media studies in my final year alongside a distinction in Physical Education. I love to share my passion for English and Media studies through my tutoring and also feel confident guiding and supporting students through their studies in History, Statistics, and Physical Education. I have significant experience working with students as a Prefect, Football Coach, Tutor, and Peer Support Leader where my enthusiasm and energy are tempered by professionalism and attention to detail.

As a tutor, I am kind and patient and enjoy building relationships with my students as I guide them towards feeling capable and confident in their own abilities. I am a strong believer in the importance of tailoring my sessions to best suit each individual student as I think that everyone learns in different ways. I enjoy working with my students in a flexible manner to engage them in the learning process and develop strategies that will afford them future success. I am very personable and approachable, ensuring that I am always open to feedback. In my spare time, I enjoy a wide range of sporting activities, watching films, playing guitar, and spending time with friends. I really look forward to this opportunity to share my passions and work with students to reach their academic goals.
